This can be a mixed skill, some yes and some not so much. At Lime Design Studio we have a background in fine art. Most of our design projects start out as pencil sketches before being created into the files you eventually receive.
We would find out about you and your business/brand, where it has come from and where you are heading. From this we can see what materials you may need designing, and how we can create that client journey to excite and give value, to then help you grow your business.
Here is a guide to designing the perfect logo...
1. Think about who your audience will be.
2. Define Your Brand. Your logo should communicate your brand's message and values.
3. Research your Competition.
4. Keep It Simple. Making it too complicated can cause issues with where you end up using the logo, and difficult to understand what the product or service may be.
5. Pick the right colour and font. Your logo and brand identity is then key to your product/service. It will combine your personality as well as the values of the company. Whether it be traditional, modern etc, the chosen font and colour will instantly create a lasting affect on your client.
Logo design cost is variable but . For example, someone who is looking for a bit of a refresh to their current design would be less than a business that is looking for something new or completely different. Design cost is from £475+vat.
Photoshop is not the best software to be creating a logo within. When designing a logo it needs to be flexible enough to use across all materials, whether that be a flyer, business card, website or embroidered shirt. When designing your logo it needs to be created as a vector allowing you to decrease and increase the logo with no distortion.
A conversation. To start any project it is always good to have a chat to understand your requirements. From this we ask for the content to fulfil the design required, whether that be the information for a flyer or business card. We give advice on the key areas that can draw the audience and amend as necessary. Imagery, if required, is also discussed. If you have an image library available or looking for a photographer or even stock. We then also ask for a guide to your brand and any vector files you have for your logo or any other pieces that build your brand.
Engaging, clean, white space, highlighted elements, good photography, consistency, call to action... These are some of the points that will make a good brochure design. A brochure needs to be on brand and informative, but shouldn't be packed on each page, there needs to be a flow, a journey that engages the client and shoes your value.
Graphic design is a skill where professionals create visual content to communicate messages. Designers use typography and imagery to meet their clients specific needs and focus on the logic of displaying elements, creating a journey for the person viewing, to optimize the clients experience.
Packaging design is the design and creation of a products labels and its container, and how it would look to a consumer who might want to purchase it. Packaging designs need to capture attention from the shelf, to stand out from the competition and entice the consumer to buy the product.
A few things to consider to make your packaging successful...
1. Make sure it is consistent with the brand.
2. Limit the number of fonts.
3. Don't overcrowd the packaging, make sure it is clean and inviting. Less is more.
4. Ensure that the design is appropriate for your target customers.
Design is very important in packaging. A great piece of packaging design can attract potential customers and set the product apart from the competition. It visually represents the quality of the product but also should show the personality of the company/product. This could be quirky, traditional, authentic, etc.
We often get this question. The answer depends on your business and the stage at which you are in your business life cycle. At later stages of growth, branding can help propel your business even further ahead of its competitors.
Businesses
For business owners, branding is the key to building the credibility of your business. You need to get your name out there if you want people to see what you have to offer. Branding helps businesses differentiate themselves from the competition, and build trust with customers by creating an emotional connection between them and their brand's values.
Individuals
Branding is a powerful tool that can help an individual stand out in the competitive marketplace. It can also help them get a job and build their network. If you’re an individual who’s looking to find your ideal path or take your current position further, branding could be just what you need to break through and make yourself known.
Brand Yourself
If you want to make it as an entrepreneur or self-employed professional, branding yourself is crucial. You need something that sets your business apart from the others—something unique only YOU have: brand identity. Your brand identity includes everything from logos and advertising materials all the way down to customer service protocols— (e.g., "I trust this company because I know they'll deliver on time every time").
Organizations
Organizations need branding to make their identity clear. Branding can help an organization stand out from the crowd by creating a unified visual identity across all of its platforms—including websites, social media pages, print materials, and more.
Brand differentiation is especially important when there are many brands in one industry trying to attract customers’ attention. By developing a clear brand image (e.g., through logo design).
Events and products
If you're a business that sells events, products, or services (e.g., a keynote speaker), branding is just as important to your image as it is for a website. Branding helps people remember who you are and what you stand for.
This can sometimes be tricky because when someone goes to an event or buys a product or service from you, they will likely be focused on other things besides your logo or slogan. So even though branding helps people remember who you are and what you stand up for, it's still up to YOU TO KEEP BRANDING IN THE MIND OF YOUR AUDIENCE.
Branding is important for several different groups.
Branding is important for several different groups. A brand can be a powerful marketing tool, allowing a business or organization to build trust and loyalty from their customers and potential customers.
Can I Use Brochures to Advertise My Business?
YES, we recommend you start using brochures to promote your business at any places, or events you attend.
Here are the 6 benefits when using eye-catching brochures for your company:
1.A well-designed brochure serves as a perfect introduction to your business.
2. Accurately distributed brochures can expand your company’s visibility.
3. Brochures are great marketing tools when reaching out to new customers.
4. Brochures can provide positive press about your company.
5. Brochures are perfect for trade shows and networking opportunities.
6. Brochures can help your clients understand the services you have to offer.
Brochures are an essential part of any company’s marketing strategy, but they can be difficult to create and distribute. Many businesses don’t have the time or resources to design their brochures, so they use templates that don’t properly represent their brand.
If you want to use brochures to promote your business, we recommend starting with a professional graphic designer who will help you create eye-catching designs that accurately represent your brand and its values. Once you have a template designed by a professional, it’s easy to print copies of the brochures at home or at any local printing store in town.
We KNOW, that creating an effective brochure can be a daunting task. But with the right tools and resources, you can create a brochure that will help your business grow.
Start with these 5 Steps to Creating an Effective Brochure
1. Select your target audience:
You need to know who you're trying to reach before you can create an effective brochure. You'll also need to determine where you'll find them—online, in a retail store? Knowing this will help you decide how to market your product or service.
2. Determine your goals for the brochure:
You should have a clear idea of what you want out of your brochure before you begin writing. Is it meant purely as an introduction to your company's mission? Or are you seeking something more specific, such as leads or sales? Your goals will affect what kind of information you include and how much space you allot for each section.
3. Identify the content of your brochure:
Once again, knowing what kind of information your audience needs is key here—and understanding how much time they'll need to spend reading through it can help inform how much text (and what type) will be included in the design process later on down the line. Keep in mind that shorter paragraphs are easier on eyes than long ones.
4. Decide how to organize that content.
Think of your brochure as a story, and you need to decide what the hook is—what's going to get people interested in reading the rest of it? If you're trying to tell customers about a new product line, for example, maybe you want to open with a story about how one customer found out about your company and became a loyal customer because of it.
5. Design and produce the brochure
Once you've decided how to organize your content, it's time to get started on designing and producing your brochure. If you want something more formal, consider hiring a professional designer who has experience with print designs; if not, there are plenty of online tools that will help you design an effective brochure without breaking the bank.
Do you offer refunds?
We want every client to be happy with the work we provide and if something isn't right, we'll always work with you to try to resolve it.
As our design services involve professional time and work carried out specifically for your business, refunds are not automatic once work has started. Where a refund may be appropriate, this will be considered fairly based on the circumstances of the project, including the work already completed and any costs already incurred.
